Week 3 | Deeper Than Hair
You’ve identified your hair growth goals, determined your hair’s porosity level, and given yourself the first of many deep relaxers!
This week we’ll go even deeper than hair, and right to the source: the ingredients you’re already using.
This hair growth practice involves pen and paper, and your go-to products (store bought and homemade).
This simple technique helped me identify panthenol as a go-to growth agent for my hair, after believing it did very little for my hair. I had no idea it was hiding in plain sight in all of my favorite ingredients.
Other things I learned:
…that green tea was too drying for my hair, and that jojoba oil and my scalp don’t mix - no matter how much like sebum it is.
I was able to swap some products I barely used and simplify my whole bi-weekly regime.
My Top Five Discoveries:
Shea butter, cocoa butter, wheat germ oil, aloe vera juice, and calendula oil were some discoveries I made years ago that still show up in my ingredients. When I started using them to make my own hair butters and oils, my hair grew even faster, stronger, and with less effort.
Everyone’s list will be different. That’s what’s so great about this exercise, it’s unique to you and your hair.
Set aside 5 to 10 minutes to complete this exercise.
