Hi Gorgeous!
Last week I took my hair down from twists and surveyed the new growth and current state of the union - OF AWESOMENESS! I used my clay wash to get rid of product buildup and then got jiggy with As I Am’s Coconut Co-washfor extra moisture and deep conditioning. For even more deep conditioning, I used and Shea Moisture’s Deep Conditioning Masque.
After a few castor oil scalp massages, it was time for a quickie mid-week wash. This recipe works like a creamy conditioner without the buildup…and it takes only 5 ingredients!
Recipe
1/4 teaspoon xanthan gum (for a thicker conditioner, add an additional 1/8 tsp at a time)
1 cup distilled or purified water
2 tablespoons honey
1 tablespoon organic coconut oil (or your favorite oil)
4 drops cedarwood essential oil (stimulates the scalp, promotes hair growth, alsorepels stress and insects
Xanthan gum may seem pricey but one bag will last you 5 years! Seriously, I bought a bag ($12 from Sprouts - like a Whole Foods but smaller) sometime early last year. I bought it to make gluten free goodies (shout out to all my Gluten Free Mommas!) and yes…hair conditioner!
You can use it to thicken soups, breads, conditioners, you name it. You can find it at mostly all grocery stores and online. The cost can be between $12 to $14.
What’s your favorite All-Natural Conditioner?
