DIY Creamy Avocado Deep Conditioner

June 27, 2013 by Erica King

This week there was an abundance of big, pretty, fresh Avocados on sale - 7 for $1.00! Perfect for this rich, deep conditioning powerhouse.

Honestly, this deep conditioner started out as guacamole years ago, and then I realized halfway through adding ingredients, I don’t like guacamole!  I prefer to eat avocados in chocolate pudding but that’s a different recipe…

I added the castor oil because it’s the only oil my scalp will tolerate during deep conditioning.  My hair loves oils, my scalp - not so much.  Coconut oil is also great but play around and see what you like.

Don’t have avocados?

Use fresh, ripe bananas (overly ripe is best…easier to mash and wash out), sweet potatoes, or canned pumpkin.  All are ultra conditioning and work better than any store bought conditioner you will find…and you can eat it if you’re really hungry.

Add 1 tablespoon of avocado oil to the mix. NaturallyCurly.com has a great article on the benefits of avocado oil.  You can also find Avocado Oil in most grocery stores (Hi Health has it) and online.

Creamy Avocado Deep Conditioner

1 ripe avocado (or 1/2 cup of mashed goodness)
2 to 3 tablespoons honey
1 tsp castor oil (or coconut oil)
1/4 cup aloe vera juice
1 teaspoon fresh lemon juice

Instructions

Add honey, avocado, and lemon juice to your mixing bowl or blender.

Blend for 1 to 2 minutes or until the conditioner reaches your desired consistency.  Slowly add in aloe vera juice.

Increase the aloe vera juice if your conditioner is too thick.  Add more avocado if your mix is too thin.

For Over-the-Top Lavish Abundance (and if you have an aloe vera plant) use the natural gel that comes from the leaves of the plant.  You may also substitute coconut milk for aloe vera juice for an even creamier creamy avocado conditioner!

As you deep condition your hair with this Creamy Avocado Deep Conditioner, affirm the following hair affirmations:

I am a Woman of Power.

Divine Love is transforming my mind and body now.

Life loves me.

Top 10 Essential Oils for Bodacious Hair Growth

The chart below has been around for a long time!

Over the past 20 years, I’ve used the essential oils it has to help clients naturally:

  • calm
  • heal
  • soothe
  • relax
  • clear
  • detoxify
  • forgive
  • embrace
  • activate
  • transmute
  • transform
  • accept
  • surrender
  • and release

When I started making my own products, I used these essential oils and noticed quicker hair growth than when I left them out of my goodies.

If you’re an avid ingredient reader, you’ve seen a few of these essentials in your favorite products.

Try them for yourself.  If you don’t make your own products, add a few drops to the ones you use.  A couple of drops (and a tablespoon of honey) make any conditioner more Lavish.  Also, where you see Lemon…the suggested uses were cut off for some reason.  The rest of that sentence is…

“Great for weight loss, changing your mental state into one filled with cheerfulness”

Take Action Now!

1.  Name 3 things you to do to relax.

2.  Make a commitment to do one of them everyday for yourself for the next 7 days.

Relax Lavishly:)

Reading, sewing and exercising are three things I do to relax.

Mangomadness, I really wish I would have learned to sew…the closet I came was crochet but I haven’t picked that up since high school! Thanks for the inspiration :)
