I took my twists out a few weeks ago. They were in for about 3 months.
I washed them regularly (about every 2 to 3 weeks) and kept my scalp clean with apple cider vinegar, water and lavender oil.
We had just moved to Maui and after running head first into the ocean a few times (you can take the naturalista out of arizona but…), I could have built a sand castle in my hair!

laila LOVES the waves:)
Needless to say, I’m glad my fruit and veggie wash ingredients double as a wonderful cleanser for these extensions.
Take a look at my photo journal of this cleansing experience:)
Before Wash (this picture is a little blurry but you can see that the hair doesn’t look that grimy right?
Soak recipe: 1 tbsp apple cider vinegar, 1 tbsp baking soda, 2 tbsps lemon juice
WOW!!!
Look at all the sand leftover :O
After rinsing the hair again (and cleaning my container) I added fresh water and 1 tsp of coconut oil to the water, for extra shine as the hair dried
They’re good to go now!
Now don’t tell anybody how dirty this hair was:) I bought it about a year ago from Fingercomber ($12.99 per bag) and love it. I reuse it all the time.
I think the color is Expresso.
I used ACV in a couple of ways like a rinse after conditioning, detox tea drink, and vegetables and fruits rinse. I used Braggs brands.
